My expressive intention was to elaborate the lines and mark-making of the portraiture. The jagged threads of intertwining lines and the build up of various synthetic hues illustrates a scratchy, discomforting texture that draws attention to the aesthetic of the seemingly wounded skin. Wounded skin that is emblematic of imperfections and flaws, the digital portrayal highlights a sense of confidence in revealing the true self to the rest of the world.
